On his Birthday Eve Henry got some presents from Mark. You can see the Donald Duck piggy bank that used to be Mark's. Henry also got his dad's robot drawing set.
Mark left early the next morning but we had Mimmu and Iso over for taco salad and root beer floats and they gave Henry his first sets of K'nex.

Henry's birthday
Mark had a business trip on Henry's birthday this year, so we celebrated with some early cake while Anja was also in town. Moving didn't leave a lot of time for baking, so Iso bought a Costco cake.
Some presents from Anja rounded out the party.

It takes time to baby-proof a house
Millie took advantage of the confusion on moving day to play with some things she wouldn't normally have access to.
She loves power tools.

Moving Day
We had friends come and help us move all the furniture and many boxes on Saturday. Anja helped me bring over loads of clothes and dishes and miscellany on Friday in the van.
The kids got to watch the action from across the street.
Anja met the movers at the front door and directed traffic.
Lunch break.
The office was piled with boxes and will stay that way for some time.
The house was in pretty impressive shape that afternoon thanks to all the help we had.

Packing
While the new house is getting painted our old house is being packed up.
All the art has been taken down and there are piles of boxes in most rooms.
And there is still so much that has to be done!

Happy Easter!
I like to get a group photo of the kids occasionally. It's very nice when everyone cooperates.
But for every image where that happens, I have several that look more like this.
I'm grateful for digital cameras. And for funny pictures. We had a lovely Easter. It was a warm, sunny day. All the Easter baskets were on the breakfast table and the kids had some candy while waiting for our cinnamon rolls and bacon to be ready. We rounded out breakfast with some of our colored eggs and fruit salad.
The Easter church service is a favorite every year. Our choir opens with the same song almost every year and the hymns are accompanied by the organ.
We were home for lunch and naps and then went to my parents' house for an egg hunt and some remote control car racing. And a turkey dinner.

Moving the Olds
Mark has and Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight that isn't running at this time. It needed to get over to our new house. His original plan was to have a friend tow it on a car hauler, but no one in town would rent him one to move that model of car. So he hired a local towing company for not much more than the price of renting a trailer. We had the nicest tow-truck driver come for the job.
He encouraged Henry operate the hydraulics and move the tow truck.
He let the kids into the cab to blast the horn and operate various levers and buttons.
We can't say enough nice things about Mr. Paul.
