A little fatter

Last Wednesday Helena weighed in at 11 lb 11 oz (5.32 K) and today she was up to 12 lb 6 oz (5.64 K). She isn't back up on the growth curve yet, but at least we are headed in the right direction.

Helena : 6 months

Helena had her six month check-up on Tuesday morning. She is a little over 25 inches tall (63 cm, 25th percentile) and weighs 10 lbs, 13.5 oz (4.93 K). This is a little less than she weighed two months ago and a few ounces more than she weighed at two months. We have started supplementing with formula. She took to the bottle without any fussing. Our Dr. isn't panicking since Henry fell off of the growth curves as a baby, but is watching the situation. We'll go back in a few weeks for a weight check. We are going to wait until she is growing before feeding more solids since they aren't as calorie-dense as milk.

She has no teeth yet, is good at using her hands to grab things and still likes to suck her fingers. Here is a video from the beginning of August of her sucking her toe. Neither of the other kids were as interested in their feet as she is in hers.

Helena : 4 months

The little one is 4 month old! She stopped sleeping longer stretches about 2 weeks ago, it will be nice when that happens again. She rolled over last week. She is exactly 2 feet tall (60 cm, 50th percentile) and weighs 11 lbs (5 K, 25th percentile).

Helena : 2 months

She can get her hands to her mouth and likes to suck on the knuckle of her left hand. She has had a few nights lately where she only wakes up once to eat. (Hooray.) She smiles and kicks and watches all the activity around her closely.

A person's a person, no matter how small

Henry is 31.5 inches (80 cm) tall and weighs 24 lbs. (~11K). This puts him between the 5th an 10th percentile for weight and somewhere below the 5th for height.
